FCI Levadia prolonged their powerful conclusion to the Premium liiga campaign by defeating Kuressaare 2-0 on foreign soil, despite having already clinched the Estonian championship. Left-back Joseph Saliste stated that the titleholders are refusing to coast through their concluding fixtures.
Speaking to Soccernet TV, Saliste emphasized that every match is approached with seriousness and noted that there is currently no opportunity for celebration. He explained that the squad is pursuing a record while aiming to deliver their absolute best through the conclusion of the season, maintaining a professional approach to properly wrap up the campaign. Levadia’s current objective is challenging the record for the biggest points margin separating the top two clubs.
Reflecting on the season, Saliste characterized it as the finest of his professional journey, highlighting the collective squad cohesion and the diligent effort expended dating back to January. Furthermore, he expressed criticism regarding the state of the playing surface at Kuressaare, describing it as extremely soft and noting that the ball behaved erratically. He concluded by mentioning that the team was happy to net the initial goal quickly.
