As the Seimas begins deliberating next year's state budget draft, officials' trade unions are making no secret of their disappointment regarding the government's plans for statutory bodies. They assert that sufficient funding is not being allocated not only for salary increases, but also for the provisioning of officers and social guarantees. The trade unions hint that if their remarks are not taken into account, officers may take to the streets to protest.
