Riga FC Women and RFS Women are set to face each other in the final of the Latvian Women’s Cup. The match takes place at LNK Sports Park on Saturday, with the starting whistle set for 17:00. Viewers can watch the game live via the futbols.tv streaming platform.
Throughout the current season, league champions Riga FC Women triumphed in all three of their head-to-head encounters against RFS, securing victories with scores of 3-0, 2-1, and 6-0. To advance to the final showdown, RFS earned cup tournament victories against Rēzekne, Auda, and Iecava/Olaine. Meanwhile, Riga secured their spot by defeating Jelgava via a 5-0 walkover and subsequently eliminating Metta with a 3-0 scoreline.
The women’s cup competition has a history dating back to its establishment in 2014. Rīgas Futbola skola claimed victory in every single tournament edition leading up through 2021. Following that streak, SFK Rīga captured one championship title, which was succeeded by Metta winning the trophy in two consecutive years. RFS managed to claim the silverware again in 2024, prior to Riga securing the cup title last season.
