Narva Trans has suffered relegation from the Premium liiga following a 5-1 defeat away in Tartu, which sealed their drop with a remaining three matches left to play in the season. The football club’s most recent victory in the league took place at the conclusion of July. Over the 12 subsequent matches, the squad managed to accumulate only four points through draws.
Head coach David Campaña along with his assistant Noel Patrick Parsons arrived at Narva Trans during late June. At that time, the team trailed ninth place by seven points. Since their arrival, that deficit has grown to double that margin. Campaña noted that his squad competed with great effort, yet grew anxious when facing pressure, describing the situation as very painful.
The Spanish coach explained that he and his coaching staff worked to resolve the team’s physical, tactical, technical, and psychological difficulties. He dismissed the surface differences between Narva’s artificial home pitch and natural grass away fields as a valid excuse, emphasizing that the players needed to accept responsibility for their struggles. He stated that if anyone deserved blame, it should be him.
Campaña mentioned that he remains unaware if he will continue his stay in Narva. He noted that his personal future is presently a small issue for the organization. Furthermore, he commended the individuals associated with Narva Trans, expressing his confidence that the club will implement appropriate measures to rebuild and achieve a prompt return to the top division.
