Ivans Visockis Steps Down as Liepāja Sporting Director

Ivans Visockis has left his position as sporting director of Liepāja after a two-year tenure with the Latvian football club, communicating his exit via a social media statement.

In his message, he expressed that following two remarkable years, his period with Liepāja had concluded, while extending deep gratitude to club president Mark, Dāvids, alongside all personnel and players for the shared journey, the affection shown, and the ups and downs. He added that he appreciates every single moment and memory, concluding with a farewell.

At 33 years of age, Visockis originally arrived at Liepāja back in November 2024 as the chief scout before expanding his duties to assume the sporting director post. During his time, he assisted in building the active roster, featuring Oloko Ede, who stands as the top goalscorer in the Virsliga.

Prior to his arrival in Liepāja, Visockis served as an analyst for Riga FC. During that period, the team based in the capital captured three straight Latvian league championships spanning from 2018 to 2020. Furthermore, his career includes a stint with Pafos, a club from Cyprus that recently played against Riga FC within the Conference League.

Currently, Liepāja has locked in fifth position in the standings with a single fixture left on the schedule. The team fell short against Daugavpils in the battle to secure fourth place and a spot in European competition qualifiers for the second consecutive year.
