The President's Chief Advisor, Deividas Matulionis, emphasizes that the 5 percent of GDP allocated for defense in the draft state budget for the coming year is the minimum possible funding. According to him, to fully implement all objectives in strengthening national security, the defense budget should be larger. However, according to the head of state's advisor, these funds should be sufficient to achieve essential defense goals.
