The Estonian women’s national team learned their competitors for the 2027 UEFA Women’s Nations League following the group stage draw held in Switzerland on Tuesday, November 3rd. Estonia was drawn into League C, group C4, where they will compete against Luxembourg, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and San Marino.
Estonia has previously played against Luxembourg multiple times. Their latest encounters occurred throughout the 2024 UEFA Women’s EURO qualifiers, where both matches concluded with identical 1-1 draws.
Bosnia and Herzegovina represent another known adversary. Both squads played each other twice earlier in the year during the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers. Estonia suffered a 3-1 defeat on foreign soil in March prior to securing a 1-1 draw during the second fixture held in Pärnu in June, with Vlada Kubassova netting the goal for Estonia.
Conversely, San Marino presents a fresh challenge for Estonia’s senior women’s national team, since the pair have never previously played against one another. Furthermore, San Marino will participate in the Women’s Nations League for the very first time, adding extra intrigue to the upcoming fixtures.
Matches within the group will follow a home-and-away structure, totaling six games per team. Group winners will achieve direct promotion to League B, whereas runners-up will retain an opportunity for promotion via play-offs, reliant upon overall League C standings.
